Aarohi woke up before her alarm that morning, although she had spent the previous night convincing herself that she would sleep peacefully. Her first day at the new company had been sitting somewhere at the back of her mind for weeks, but between the wedding, the endless ceremonies, relatives, family dinners, and the strange adjustment of waking up beside a husband she was still learning about, she had barely had the time to think about it properly. Now, as she stared at the ceiling, the reality finally settled over her.
